Job Summary
Guide nursing students through theory and clinical placements by serving as a mentor, role model, and facilitator. Apply teaching methodologies to instruct students while utilizing Simulation and Innovation Labs resources. Participate in assessment activities, course curriculum improvement, and continuous planning for class materials and syllabi. Assume complete responsibility for students in clinical facilities, clarifying expectations with both students and facility staff. Assess student knowledge and skill levels to ensure patient safety, utilizing pre- and post-conferences to correlate weekly theory with clinical objectives. Provide immediate feedback on clinical performance and overall semester evaluations. Maintain scholarly activities and participate in professional growth in accordance with university policies.
Required Qualifications
- Professional nurse licensure
- Clinical RN
- Minimum of two (2) year's prior experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care in an acute care setting
- Minimum of one year experience in the field in which they teach
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other MS office products as needed
- Experience with online learning management systems
- Compliance with state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance, and other regulatory standards such as state Board of Nursing
