Job Summary

Direct the education and instruction of medical students during ultrasound laboratory experiences, providing mentorship and motivation for learning. Participate in curriculum development, assessment, and modification while evaluating students and residents to ensure they meet established competency standards. Maintain a personal development plan documenting teaching activities, scholarly research, and service provided to the college and community. Demonstrate expertise in biomedical or clinical education for predoctoral and postdoctoral students while engaging in innovative scholarship to advance medical knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • Terminal degree (DO or MD) from an accredited institution
  • Good standing with all regulatory and governmental boards and agencies
  • Eligible for coverage by college's malpractice insurer if applicable
  • Training in ultrasound specific to the labs assigned
  • Ability to orally communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, using the English language
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skill in the delivery of ultrasound in medical education
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of varied ultrasound diagnostics and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate ability to mentor and motivate students and peers
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing equality, diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
  • Must be able to transport oneself to other campus offices, conference rooms, and on occasion, to off-campus sites to attend meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, etc.

Desired Qualifications

  • Three (3) years academic experience as a full time faculty member at a College of Osteopathic Medicine or as a full time faculty member in a Graduate Medical Education program
  • Current Board certified or Board eligible in area of specialization
  • ARDMS or AIUM Certification
