Job Summary
Teach students effectively in assigned classes and maintain office hours for student consultation. Provide written course syllabi, evaluate instructional processes, and utilize innovative strategies to improve learning. Maintain accurate course records, participate in student advising and registration, and recommend books, materials, and teaching assignments to support discipline development. Utilize technology to access data, generate reports, and communicate with faculty, staff, and community groups. Promote the college in the community through marketing activities and participate in campus commencement exercises and required college meetings. Complete Dallas College Professional Development training hours annually and commit to division objectives and budget requests.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher and at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline for credit courses
- a combination of academic preparation and work experience, including three (3) years of direct or related work experience other than teaching
- Bachelor's degree or higher in the specific teaching discipline and demonstrated competency (i.e., teaching experience, honors, graduate course work or other related accomplishments)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with students
- Demonstrated skills in successfully working with diverse populations through experiences such as formal training and past work experiences
- The ability to provide quality customer service
- May be required to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Position requires regular and predictable attendance
