Adjunct Faculty – Occupational Therapy - Oklahoma Baptist University

Job Summary

Conduct hybrid occupational therapy instruction, including developing new courses, leading synchronous sessions, and delivering in-person lab immersions. Provide asynchronous and synchronous classroom activities while maintaining two hours of weekly office hours for student support. Mentor doctoral capstone students through project development, implementation, and presentation, with two to three campus visits annually. Participate in faculty meetings, accreditation processes, and program committees as needed. Requires a current Oklahoma occupational therapy license, three years of clinical experience, and one year of higher education teaching experience. Must be a member of a local evangelical Christian church.

Required Qualifications

  • Occupational therapy degree (MOT, MSOT, etc.) from an ACOTE accredited program
  • Current, valid non-restricted occupational therapy license
  • Oklahoma (OK) state occupational therapy license or eligibility for licensure in OK
  • A minimum of 3 years clinical experience as an occupational therapy practitioner
  • A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in occupational therapy or similar program in higher education
  • Must be a member of a local evangelical* Christian church

Desired Qualifications

  • Earned doctoral degree or advancing towards earned doctoral degree from an accredited program (OTD, EdD, PhD, ScD, etc.)
  • Clinical experience in neurological conditions, psychosocial conditions, pediatrics, geriatrics, musculoskeletal conditions, physical impairments/disabilities, orthotics, physical agent modalities, health and wellness, and/or use of technologies in OT practice
  • Advanced Certifications, Specializations, and/or Credentials in field of practice
  • Knowledge of innovative teaching strategies in education
  • Teaching experience in a hybrid format
  • Hybrid/Online Teaching Certification
  • Excellent communication skills and strong computer skills to meet the needs of our hybrid instructional format
  • Appreciation of best practices in teaching and learning
  • Competent in the integration of technology within the classroom and how to build a student-centered community within the online learning space
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite tools (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, etc.) as well as Zoom and other online meeting platforms
  • Experience with online learning management software (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)
