Job Summary
Adjunct Faculty in Management Information Systems to teach MIS courses (e.g., Quantitative Methods for Business and Economics, Project Management, Database Management using SQL) at Augsburg University. Responsibilities include face-to-face teaching two to three times per week, course construction and assignments, grading, maintaining office hours, and potential orientation prior to classes. Course syllabi and shared office space are provided; each course requires approximately 12-15 hours per week. Candidates should demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to inclusive teaching. Employment is limited to Minnesota or Wisconsin residents due to policy. Compensation is provided per undergraduate course for the 2025-26 academic year, with eligible retirement contributions and employee benefits as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement with SEIU, Local 284. The department seeks diversity and international experience among students and maintains multiple Augsburg locations and international sites.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Management Information Systems or related field
- Understanding of current developments and experience in the field of MIS
- Ability to engage a diverse student body
- Prior teaching experience (preferred)
- Availability for in-person teaching or synchronous online teaching (or both)
