Adjunct Faculty – Machining and Mechanical Instructor - Skilled Trades

Job Summary

Teach Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology courses in lecture and lab environments, covering Machining Processes, CNC, Hydraulics, and Mechanical Power Transmission. Plan instruction aligned with curriculum goals, maintain classroom hours, and employ assessment techniques to measure student performance. Communicate progress to students, submit grades per College policy, and remain current on subject matter and instructional methods. Work assigned schedules that may include days, evenings, or weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five plus years' experience in related industry experience in machining, manufacturing, mechanical systems, or skilled trades
  • Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one, in small groups, and in classroom situations
  • Proficient in word-processing and presentation software, internet, and e-mail
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of students
  • Capability to teach in more than one discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to advise students
  • Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work a combination of days/evening/weekend schedules
  • Regularly required to talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Close vision
  • Peripheral vision
  • Ability to adjust focus

Desired Qualifications

  • A.A.S. Degree in Machining/Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Journeyman card and/or other industry certifications
