Adjunct Faculty - Introduction to Chemistry

Job Summary
Conduct Introduction to Chemistry classes in-person, online, and in labs using lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual aids. Keep students engaged while managing behavior, establishing clear objectives, and tracking attendance. Evaluate student performance through tests, projects, and oral assessments; identify at-risk students for referral to the Student Success Coordinator. Provide individual tutoring and academic counseling. Grade assignments, maintain grade books, and perform administrative duties. Participate in academic committees, conferences, and required professional development activities including two in-person and one distance education session annually.
Required Qualifications
- Masters' degree or higher from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
- A minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area
- Master's degree in the discipline OR a Master's degree (any discipline) with 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework relevant to the discipline
- Two years of practical experience in the course content area with a related degree
- Three years of practical experience if the degree is in an unrelated field
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of three years of work experience as an educator
