Job Summary

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in bilingual education and ESL, including online and hybrid formats. Prepare classes following syllabus guidelines, maintain records, assign grades, and report data to the department. Collaborate with lead faculty, advise students, and ensure all development assessments are completed. Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required. This role is part of the Department of Educator & Leadership Preparation at Texas A&M University-San Antonio for the Fall 2026 term. Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in education or related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Bilingual Education degree (Spanish), or Teaching English as a second language (TESL) degree
  • Knowledgeable of the theoretical and pedagogical understandings regarding teaching bilingual and ESL content
  • Background knowledge of working with culturally and linguistically different populations
  • Fluent in spoken and written Spanish
  • Teaching availability during the day

Desired Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.)
  • Teaching Experience in Pk-12 Bilingual and/or ESL settings
  • Experience supervising clinical or practicum experience in bilingual and ESL education settings
  • Working with pre-service teachers
  • Experience in training or providing professional development
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
  • Experience or interest in student recruitment, cohort building
