Job Summary
Teach students effectively in assigned classes and maintain office hours for student consultation. Provide written course syllabi, evaluate instructional processes, and recommend books, materials, and teaching assignments to improve learning. Maintain accurate course records, participate in student advising and registration, and utilize technology to access data and generate reports. Serve on college committees, attend campus commencement exercises, and promote the college through community marketing activities. Complete required professional development training hours annually and perform other duties as assigned. This role requires on-campus presence and regular attendance.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher and at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline for credit courses
- a combination of academic preparation and work experience, including three (3) years of direct or related work experience other than teaching
- Bachelor's degree or higher in the specific teaching discipline and demonstrated competency (i.e., teaching experience, honors, graduate course work or other related accomplishments)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with students
- Demonstrated skills in successfully working with diverse populations through experiences such as formal training and past work experiences
- The ability to provide quality customer service
- May be required to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Position requires regular and predictable attendance
- Will be subject to a criminal background check
- Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check
