Job Summary
Adjunct Faculty member at Marion Technical College provides high-quality instruction in Education and Early Childhood Education across formats (face-to-face, hybrid, online, dual-enrollment/CCP). Responsible for delivering instruction aligned to course outcomes and syllabi, engaging and supporting a diverse student population, assessing student performance, maintaining accurate attendance and progress records in the LMS, and ensuring FERPA-compliant communication and confidentiality. Collaborates with faculty and administration on departmental activities, participates in accreditation initiatives, and supports student retention and workforce development while meeting varied instructional scheduling across locations. Requires a Master’s degree in a related field, at least three years of relevant experience, strong English communication and writing skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, independent work capability, willingness to work irregular schedules, and the ability to pass background checks and provide a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in education, early childhood education, or a related educational setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development, curriculum design, assessment, and effective instructional practices
- Teaching experience within a postsecondary educational institution preferred
- Exhibit excellent English, communication, and writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal direction and oversight
- Any combination of work experience, training, and/or education equivalent may be accepted
- Willingness to work an irregular schedule as assigned
- Candidate must successfully pass a background check, prior to and after employment
- Valid driver’s license or dependable transportation required
