Job Summary
Adjunct Faculty DMS position at Florida National University involves creating course outlines and syllabi, developing lesson plans and teaching materials, delivering classroom instruction through lectures and demonstrations, and assessing student progress. Responsibilities include adhering to university policies and ethical standards (FERPA, GDPR, Title IX, FNU Code of Ethics), participating in university events, managing communications, and completing special projects. Responsibilities also include collaboration with the Program Director, maintaining effective organization and resource planning, timely feedback to students, annual/biannual course assessment and updates, cross-disciplinary teaching when appropriate, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Education/experience requirements include an associate degree (Bachelor’s and Master’s preferred), minimum two years of relevant clinical experience, active ARDMS certification/registration or equivalent state licensure, and strong teaching, communication, and public speaking skills; OSHA, CPR, and HIV training within the first 30 days of employment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree is required; Bachelor’s and Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of documented clinical experience in professional discipline
- Unrestricted American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification and registration or the equivalent (unrestricted state license for the state in which the program is located)
- Proficient in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Public speaking and presentation skills
- OSHA training or willingness to obtain within 30 days; CPR and HIV training or willingness to obtain within 30 days
