Job Summary
Demonstrate mastery of dentistry and employ responsive pedagogical techniques to engage diverse learners across various academic preparation levels. Prepare course syllabi, review outlines, and provide prompt feedback on assessments and student emails during regular office hours. Adapt instructional practices to facilitate student success, academic achievement, and persistence while adhering to reporting deadlines for grade processing and textbook adoption. Participate in service to the college and its community. This part-time adjunct role supports Broward College's mission to foster academic excellence and economic well-being for its 50,000+ students.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate Degree in Dentistry (DMD or DDS)
- Graduated from a Dental School within the United States
- Active Dental License issued within the United States
- Active Dental License issued within the State of Florida
- High level of computer literacy
- Commitment to teaching
- Willingness to complete teaching methodology training
- Willingness to examine and adapt one's instructional, relational, and classroom practices
- Ability to use skills and strategies that engage students in ways that facilitate learning and prepare students for productive lives
- Employ teaching methods to accommodate various levels of academic preparation
- Incorporate appropriate and engaging technology across different modalities of instruction
- Facilitate the needs of different learners across programs by implementing responsive pedagogical techniques
- Engage in student consultation
- Course preparation
- Review of course outlines
- Preparation of course syllabi
- Provide prompt and constructive support to students through regular office hours
- Timely feedback on assessments and activities
- Provide prompt feedback to student emails
- Adhere to all reporting deadlines such as grade processing, enrollment verification, syllabus submission, and textbook adoption
- Participate in service to the college and its community
- Successful completion of the required background screening process
- E-Verify eligibility to work in the United States
- Completion of an I-9 Form
- Documentation of identity for employment purposes
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of clinical experience
- Prior college teaching experience
