Job Summary
Deliver engaging lectures and lab sessions on diagnostic procedures, equipment operation, and troubleshooting while maintaining accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress. Organize clear class objectives, foster a safe learning environment, and maintain training aids and tools. Evaluate student performance through assignments and exams, provide constructive feedback, and create individualized success plans for at-risk students. Design curriculum that adheres to industry standards and best practices, adapting teaching methods to diverse learning styles. Provide regular, substantive interaction with students in both online and on-campus course components. This adjunct instructor role supports the dental hygiene program by acting as a professional role model and ensuring adherence to CODA-accredited standards.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree
- Degree must be from a CODA-accredited school (DH or DDS)
- 4 Years of related practical work experience
- Active dental, dental hygiene license or special permit with no disciplinary actions
- Direct and specialized knowledge in the area of instruction
- Expertise in the area of assignment that demonstrates the skills needed to provide instruction
- Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to gain, understand and apply information and data as it relates essential functions of the position
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential and multiple projects are worked simultaneously
- Ability to foster long-term relationships with stakeholders
- Use hearing and sight (both near and far vision)
- Communicate with students and provide direct instruction
- Use fine motor skills to operate personal computers, manual and electrical (dental, automotive, mechanical, nursing, etc.) equipment, as well as various diagnostic or procedure equipment
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds with the assistance of mechanical interventions, students, or other employees
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to provide instruction in labs and demonstrate procedures
- Able and willing to: Communicate, think, learn, and reason
- Able and willing to: Use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to process transactions, store documents, enter data, or perform assigned tasks
- Able and willing to: Safely ambulate and/or maneuver when on-site at Company locations
