Job Summary
Adjunct Faculty member sought to teach up to three graduate-level courses in the Transpersonal Art Therapy concentration for Fall 2026, with instruction offered online, low-residency, synchronous, and/or in-person formats. Teaching duties include preparing course materials, collaborating with Core Faculty to review and submit syllabi, ensuring copyright permissions for source materials, grading, providing timely feedback, maintaining office hours, mentoring students, supporting program assessment, coordinating with staff and other faculty on student issues, completing required trainings, attending faculty meetings, and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications include either a doctoral degree with ATR-BC or a Master’s degree with ATR-BC and licensure eligibility, plus substantial teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and Naropa values.
Required Qualifications
- EITHER a doctorate in Counseling, Counselor Education & Supervision, Psychology, related area relevant to mental health (with active ATR-BC OR these three requirements: 1) Master's degree in Counseling or a related field; 2) Active ATR-BC (Board Certified Art Therapist); 3) Licensed or eligible for licensure at the Professional Counselor or equivalent level; and 4) Equivalent of two years’ full time employment in a clinical capacity in a mental health related setting (private practice, agency, or related setting) in the last five years.
- Significant teaching experience including lecture, facilitating discussion, and experiential exercises.
- Ability to demonstrate course content area knowledge and understanding of its application in counseling.
- High emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and assertive communication skills.
- Willingness to participate in professional development, including openness to feedback and ongoing self-examination.
- Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.
