Adjunct Faculty: CID-CBE MS Public Safety

Job Summary
Adjunct Faculty teaches three semester credit hours per 7-week term in the fully online competency-based education format, supporting CBE Orientation Courses. Responsibilities include responding to student inquiries within 24 hours, providing timely feedback on assignments and assessments, facilitating courses according to the provided syllabus, monitoring undergraduate orientation courses with weekly status reports to advisors, developing and maintaining teaching materials (syllabi, course content, question libraries), preparing and evaluating course assignments and examinations, and performing other duties as assigned. Required qualifications emphasize a terminal degree in public safety or a Master’s in public safety with a closely related terminal degree, plus proficiency with common office software, strong communication, and the ability to work with minimal supervision; online or hybrid teaching experience and prior teaching in higher education are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Terminal degree in public safety or closely related field OR Master’s degree in public safety with terminal degree in closely related field
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Online or hybrid teaching experience preferred
- College or University teaching experience preferred
- Evidence of teaching excellence preferred
- Experience working with varied student populations preferred
- Prior relevant industry experience preferred
- Criminal history check upon employment
