Job Summary
Adjunct Faculty: CID-CBE MS Public Safety teaches three semester credit hours per 7-week term in a fully online competency-based education format, supporting CBE Orientation Courses. Responsibilities include responding to student inquiries within 24 hours, providing timely feedback on assignments and assessments, facilitating courses per the standard syllabus, monitoring undergraduate-level orientation courses with weekly status reports to advisors, developing and maintaining teaching materials (syllabi, course content, question libraries, etc.), preparing/evaluating course assignments and examinations, and performing other duties as assigned. Candidates should hold a terminal degree in public safety or a closely related field (or a Master’s in public safety with a terminal degree in a closely related field) and demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and online teaching capabilities. Required Qualifications
- Terminal degree in public safety or closely related field with 18 hours in field/subject area OR Master’s degree in public safety with terminal degree in closely related field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
- Work with minimal supervision
- Online or hybrid teaching experience (preferred)
- College or University teaching experience (preferred)
- Evidence of teaching excellence (preferred)
- Experience working with varied student populations (preferred)
- Prior relevant industry experience (preferred)
- Security-sensitive position with background check (required)
