Job Summary
Adjunct Faculty - Astronomy at Rochester Christian University teaches in-seat astronomy courses at the Main Campus (Rochester Hills). Responsibilities include collaborating with the chair on syllabus and curriculum aligned with university learning goals, planning active learning assignments across multiple modalities, confidentially documenting student performance, fulfilling adjunct duties per the Faculty Handbook, staying current with policies, promoting a safe lab environment, and advancing inclusive practices. Candidates must articulate a Christian worldview and actively support the university’s mission, including involvement in department activities, mentorship initiatives, and campus-wide engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline
- 18 graduate hours in the discipline or a closely related discipline
- Previous teaching experience is preferred; candidates willing to receive mentorship will be considered
- Adjunct contracts are less than part-time and made on a semester-by-semester basis
