Job Summary
Additive Manufacturing Engineer I/II responsible for developing printing parameters for metallic alloys using DED, Hybrid, and related AM methods; creating and improving print programs; providing engineering support for day-to-day Additive Manufacturing operations; collaborating with downstream teams to ensure print geometries are post-processed effectively; delivering feedback during the DfAM process; and working with Design & Manufacturing Engineers to specify Additive Manufacturing approaches. Role may be filled at Engineer I or II level depending on experience. Base salary for California: $82,000–$104,000 USD. Must align with ITAR/compliance requirements and be prepared to operate in a primarily on-site environment at Rocket Lab’s Long Beach, CA location.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering or relevant engineering field
- Experience with additive manufacturing of metallic materials
- Proficient with DfAM fundamentals
- Experience modeling in Siemens NX or SolidWorks
- Experience programming in CAM programming in Siemens NX or MasterCam
