Additive Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary
Design, prototype, and produce 3D-printed components using CAD software while evaluating designs for manufacturability and recommending modifications. Manage daily printer schedules, maintain equipment, and perform post-processing tasks like cleaning and sandblasting. Conduct material and part testing to verify performance, monitor inventory levels, and identify opportunities to replace traditionally manufactured parts with additive solutions. Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to develop new applications and improve process efficiency. Maintain a safe, organized work environment and support continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical or engineering-related field
- Ability to lift and move materials, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with additive manufacturing, 3D printing, engineering design, prototyping, or manufacturing
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software and the ability to create, modify, and interpret 3D models
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing and 3D printing technologies, processes, and materials
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and manufacturing processes
- Understanding of material properties and their impact on printed-part performance
- Ability to evaluate designs for manufacturability and recommend appropriate design modifications
- Experience conducting part, material, or prototype testing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple printing requests, projects, and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, production, maintenance, and other departments
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic manufacturing environment
- Preferred fields of study include: Additive Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Other related technical or engineering disciplines
