Additive Design Engineer

Job Summary
Lead the Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) part development pipeline, acting as a consultant for part and process selection, optimization, qualification and implementation. Design innovative, production-ready components by creating 3D models and assemblies optimized for additive manufacturing. Collaborate with global engineering teams, communicating timelines and risks while influencing design decisions. Create rough stock and finish-machined drawings with GD&T considerations and downstream machining in mind. Develop, build, and test prototypes hands-on in the Additive Technology Lab; contribute to Emerson’s additive manufacturing standards and internal documentation; initiate engineering change requests and document post-build results to inform future designs. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent), at least one year of additive manufacturing experience, ability to lift up to 30 pounds, and willingness to travel to collaborate with global teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience
- At least one year of experience with additive manufacturing; co-op or internship experience is valued
