Job Summary
Remote, part-time Addiction Medicine Physician role delivering telehealth SUD care and MAT to Pelago members, including assessments, diagnosis, and medication management; collaborate with counselors, coaches, and operations; utilize Atlas AI-native EHR to streamline documentation; participate in clinical case reviews and protocol development; approximately 10 hours per week; open to candidates located in the United States; multi-state licensure strongly preferred. Responsibilities include prescribing MAT (e.g., naltrexone, Suboxone), addressing co-occurring mental health conditions, developing personalized treatment plans, ensuring accurate clinical documentation, and engaging with cross-functional teams to improve care delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Board-certified physician (MD or DO) in Psychiatry with ABPN or AOA, with Addiction Psychiatry subspecialty preferred, or Internal Medicine/Family Medicine or other ABMS/AOA primary specialty with Addiction Medicine subspecialty certification (ABPM) or board eligibility
- Active licensure in at least one U.S. state; multi-state licensure strongly preferred; willingness to obtain additional state licensure as needed (Pelago will sponsor this)
- DEA registration (or in process) and current state-controlled substance license (or in process)
- Comfort working in an AI-augmented care environment; openness to adopting AI-assisted tools for documentation, communication, and decision-making
- Experience in telemedicine with advanced comfort using digital platforms and EHRs
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Travel willingness (5-10% anticipated) and ability to support 10 hours per week

- IMLC participation and prior digital health/telemedicine experience are preferred
