Job Summary
Provide specially designed physical education instruction based on individual student needs and IEP goals. Evaluate referred students for eligibility and prepare written reports describing strengths, needs, performance, and recommendations. Develop and implement therapy plans and APE goals aligned with motor development, fitness, coordination, and participation in lifelong physical activity. Participate as a member of IEP Teams, consult with school personnel and parents on student progress, and monitor progress toward objectives. Maintain accurate records for service delivery, assessment, and documentation. Support students in developing skills promoting health, wellness, and leisure.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a degree from an accredited college or university in Physical Education
- Holds a valid Massachusetts Educator Licensure
- Experience working with, and knowledge of, students with disabilities and physical limitations
