Job Summary
Direct special education instruction for identified students with disabilities, developing and implementing IEPs aligned to individual goals, and adapting lesson plans and materials to meet students’ age and developmental levels. Responsible for monitoring progress, maintaining EC records per state and federal guidelines, collaborating with parents and community care-givers, and planning/ executing instructional strategies to advance academic, behavioral, and social skills. Responsibilities include using diagnostic information to update IEPs, employing multiple teaching methods, ensuring inclusive practices, maintaining a safe and orderly classroom, and coordinating with school professionals to support student needs. Term of Employment: 10 months. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include understanding IEP processes, effective communication with families, behavior management, documentation, and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in special education
- certification in general curriculum by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction
