Job Summary
Implements and supervises overall direct nursing care on designated shifts, managing nursing staff and providing program planning and evaluation. Requires strong leadership and supervisory skills, overseeing multidisciplinary teams, assigning staff to clients, training, evaluating performance, and facilitating staff recruitment. Must adhere to policies regarding medication management and crisis intervention, while fostering effective communication and collaboration within the department. Staff must be certified in CPR and other relevant areas. The role is part-time, specifically for short hour shifts on Fridays and Saturdays.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) years of psychiatric direct care nursing experience
- At least two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of California
- CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Desired Qualifications
- Current knowledge of psychiatric illnesses
- Regulatory requirements regarding the delivery of health care to persons with mental illness
- Infection control requirements
