Job Summary
Assess, plan, and evaluate care for assigned patients while performing intradialytic transfusions, administering medications, and initiating emergency response measures. Collect and analyze patient data pre-, during-, and post-treatment to modify treatment plans, document responses, and notify the health team of status changes or adverse reactions. Collaborate with direct and ancillary staff to provide safe patient care, educate patients and families on learning needs, and coordinate communication with dialysis providers and contracted facilities. Direct patient care staff including LVNs/LPNs and PCTs as Nurse in Charge. Participate in on-call rotation, night, weekend, and holiday shifts while traveling to training sites and facilities. Complete CAP requirements to advance within the Clinical Advancement Program.
Required Qualifications
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in all states in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to move machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs with assistance
- Must be available for on-call rotation
- Must be available for night shifts
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for holiday shifts
- Must be able to travel to training/meeting sites and between assigned facilities
- Must be able to perform essential functions in other locations
- Must be able to work in a health care facility with moderate noise levels
- Must be able to be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- 12 months experience as a Registered Nurse (preferred)
- 6 months experience in acute dialysis as a RN (preferred)
- Hemodialysis and/or ICU experience (preferred)
- Successful completion of all FKC education and modality specific training requirements for new employees
- Experience as a Nurse in Charge
