Job Summary

Acts as the first point of contact for patient access at Banner Health facilities, performing in-person patient intake and registration, accurately verifying patient demographics and insurance eligibility, determining benefits and patient estimates, obtaining signatures on consent forms, and communicating about financial responsibilities. Responsibilities include verifying payer guidelines, submitting authorizations, applying CMS/compliance requirements, providing financial counseling, exploring payment plans or Banner Financial Assistance, and supporting the revenue cycle in a high-volume, fast-paced hospital setting. The role requires strong customer service skills, the ability to navigate multiple systems (including EHR/MS4), and the capability to prioritize tasks while delivering a positive patient experience. The position may involve coverage across inpatient, obstetric, emergency, outpatient, and other service lines, with emphasis on minimizing denials and ensuring timely registrations.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Customer service experience
  • Healthcare experience preferred
