Acute Medicine Clinical Nurse - FT Days (Saint Louis)

Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within the 17-bed Unit 5200 Acute Care Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Promote patient and family-centered care by educating families on illness management, post-treatment home care, and medication administration. Develop and document individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, ensuring communication across the continuum of care. Use critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs while evaluating patient preferences and cultural values. Participate in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and engage in professional development opportunities. This safety-sensitive position requires a constant state of alertness. A BSN is preferred, and the BJC Registered Nurse Career Ladder supports professional advancement and pay increases.
