Job Summary
Assess, plan, and evaluate care for assigned patients while documenting data pre-, during-, and post-treatment. Direct patient care for modality-specific procedures, administer medications, and initiate emergency responses. Collaborate with the health team to adjust treatment plans, educate patients and families, and coordinate communication with dialysis providers. Provide safe effective care for assigned patients as prescribed and report status changes to appropriate physicians and supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in all states in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to move machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs with assistance
- Must be able to perform essential functions in other locations
- Must be available for on-call rotation
- Must be available for night shifts
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for holiday shifts
- Must be able to travel to training/meeting sites and between assigned facilities
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as an RN
- 12 months experience as a Registered Nurse
- 6 months experience in acute dialysis as a RN
- Hemodialysis and/or ICU experience
