Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Job Summary
Assess, plan, and coordinate clinically competent care for assigned patients, including delegation to direct patient care staff. Perform ongoing data collection and analysis pre-, during-, and post-treatment to adjust treatment plans and document responses to intradialytic transfusions. Administer medications as prescribed, initiate emergency response measures, and provide education to patients and families regarding basic learning needs. Collaborate with the kidney disease health care team, physicians, and contracted facility personnel to ensure continuity of care and participate in quality improvement activities. Requires 9 months of RN experience with 6 months in acute dialysis, plus on-call rotation for night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- Must be able to lift 200 lbs. with assistance
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be able to move machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs. with assistance
- Must be able to perform essential functions in other locations
- Must be available for on-call rotation
- Must be available for night shifts
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for holiday shifts
- Must be able to travel to training/meeting sites and between assigned facilities
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- 12 months experience as a Registered Nurse (preferred)
- 6 months experience in acute dialysis as a RN (preferred)
- Hemodialysis and/or ICU experience (preferred)
