Job Summary
Assess, plan, and coordinate clinically competent care for assigned dialysis patients, including pre-, during-, and post-treatment data collection and treatment plan modifications. Direct patient care for all modality-specific procedures, administer medications, and manage emergency response measures while documenting medical justification. Collaborate with the health team to educate patients and families, recognize patient status changes, and communicate with providers and contracted facility personnel. Serve as a mentor and role model for direct and ancillary staff, potentially acting as a preceptor for new employees. Perform essential functions across multiple locations including inpatient and outpatient facilities, with participation in on-call rotations covering nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in all states employed
- Entry level for RNs with minimum 2 years or more of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last 2 years as a RN
- Must have at least 1 year of dialysis experience
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to move, with assistance, machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs
- Must be able to perform frequent, prolonged periods of standing
- Must be available for travel to training/meeting sites and between assigned facilities
- Must be available for on-call rotation
- Must be available for night shifts
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for holiday shifts
- Must be available for as defined by individual program needs
- Required to complete CAP requirements to maintain or advance
- Must be able to perform essential functions of this position in other locations with the same physical demands and working conditions as described above
