Job Summary
Assess, plan, and evaluate care for assigned patients by collecting and analyzing pre-, during-, and post-treatment data to modify treatment plans. Direct safe, effective patient care for all modality-specific procedures while administering medications and responding to emergencies. Collaborate with direct staff, physicians, and contracted providers to ensure continuity, educate patients and families, and serve as a mentor to new employees. Maintain documentation in medical records and participate in quality improvement activities. Requires on-call rotation, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in all states employed
- Entry level for RNs with minimum 2 years or more of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last 2 years as a RN
- Must be able to lift 200 lbs.
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be able to move machines and equipment with assistance
- Must be able to move patients and assist with ambulation
- Must be able to work in a health care facility with moderate noise levels
- Must be able to be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
- Must be available for travel to training/meeting sites and between assigned facilities
- Must be available for on-call rotation
- Must be available for night shifts
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for holiday shifts
- Must be able to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- 6 months experience in acute dialysis as a RN
- Acute dialysis experience
