Job Summary
Assess, plan, and coordinate clinically competent care for assigned patients, including delegation to direct patient care staff. Perform ongoing data collection and analysis pre-, during, and post-treatment to modify treatment plans and document responses to intradialytic transfusions. Administer medications as prescribed, initiate emergency responses, and educate patients and families on learning needs. Collaborate with physicians, supervisors, and contracted providers to ensure continuity of care while serving as a mentor and role model for new employees. Requires 6 months acute dialysis experience, on-call rotation, and travel to training sites.
Required Qualifications
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in all states employed
- Entry level for RNs with minimum 2 years or more of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last 2 years as a RN
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs (200 lbs with assistance, 30 lbs high as 5 feet)
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be available for travel to training/meeting sites and between assigned facilities
- Must be available for on-call rotation, night, weekend, or holiday shifts
- Must be able to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test
- Must be willing to perform essential functions in other locations with the same physical demands
