Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse - RN - Dialysis

Job Summary
Coordinate clinically competent care for assigned patients by performing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation while delegating tasks to RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians. Collect and analyze patient data pre-, during-, and post-treatment to adjust treatment plans and document responses to intradialytic transfusions, including adverse reactions. Administer medications as prescribed, initiate emergency response measures, and educate patients and families on learning needs. Collaborate with physicians, supervisors, and contracted facility personnel to ensure continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Participate in quality improvement activities, staff training, and orientation of new hires. Requires 9 months of RN experience with 6 months in acute dialysis, plus on-call rotation for night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as an RN
- Minimum 9 months experience as a Registered Nurse
- 6 months experience in acute dialysis as a RN
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in all states in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 9 months experience as a RN
- 6 months experience in acute dialysis as a RN
- Hemodialysis and/or ICU experience
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to move, with assistance, machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs
- Must be able to perform essential functions of this position in other locations
- Must be available for on-call rotation
- Must be available for night shifts
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for holiday shifts
- Must be able to travel to training/meeting sites and between assigned facilities
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must agree to a drug-free workplace
Desired Qualifications
