Job Summary
Coordinate clinically competent care for assigned patients by performing ongoing data collection, treatment plan adjustments, and documentation of intradialytic transfusions and medication administration. Assess patient status variations, educate families on learning needs, and collaborate with physicians, supervisors, and facility staff to ensure continuity of care across modalities. Direct patient care procedures, initiate emergency responses, and serve as a mentor to direct care staff including LPNs, LVNs, and PCTs. Requires 6 months acute dialysis experience, state licensure, and completion of CAP training. Full-time role with on-call rotation, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in all states employed
- Minimum 2 years or more of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last 2 years as a RN
- Successful completion of all FKC education and modality specific training requirements
- 6 months experience in acute dialysis as a RN
- Must be able to lift 200 lbs. with assistance
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be able to move machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs. with assistance
- Must be able to move patients and assist with ambulation
- Must be able to work in a health care facility with moderate noise levels
- Must be able to be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
- Must be available for travel to training/meeting sites and between assigned facilities
- Must be available for on-call rotation
- Must be available for night shifts
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for holiday shifts
- Must be able to provide essential functions of the position in other locations
- Must be able to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test
