Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse - RN - Dialysis

Job Summary
Conduct acute inpatient dialysis patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Perform ongoing data collection and analysis pre-, during-, and post-treatment, adjusting treatment plans and documenting responses to intradialytic transfusions. Administer medications, initiate emergency response measures, and educate patients and families on learning needs. Collaborate with direct care staff, physicians, and contracted providers to ensure continuity of care and participate in quality improvement activities. Serve as a mentor and role model for new employees, potentially acting as a preceptor. Requires 6 months acute dialysis RN experience, on-call rotation, and night/weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in all states employed
- Entry level for RNs with minimum 2 years or more of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last 2 years as a RN
- Must be able to lift 200 lbs.
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be able to move machines and equipment with assistance
- Must be able to move patients and assist with ambulation
- Must be able to work in a health care facility environment
- Must be able to be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
- Must be available for travel to training/meeting sites and between assigned facilities
- Must be available for on-call rotation
- Must be available for night shifts
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for holiday shifts
- Must be able to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test
- Must be willing to perform essential functions of the position in other locations
Desired Qualifications
- Acute dialysis experience (preferred)
- 6 months experience in acute dialysis as a RN
