Job Summary
Assess, plan, and coordinate clinically competent care for assigned patients, including delegation to direct care staff. Perform systematic data collection and analysis pre-, during, and post-treatment to adjust treatment plans and document responses to intradialytic transfusions. Administer medications as prescribed, initiate emergency response measures, and educate patients and families on learning needs. Collaborate with physicians, facility staff, and contracted providers to ensure continuity of care and participate in quality improvement activities. Serve as a mentor and role model for new employees while completing CAP requirements to maintain or advance designation. Requires 6 months acute dialysis experience, on-call rotation, and travel between facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in all states employed
- Entry level for RNs with minimum 2 years or more of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last 2 years as a RN
- Successful completion of all FKC education and modality specific training requirements
- 6 months experience in acute dialysis as a RN
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to move, with assistance, machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs.
- Must be able to lift and move patients and assisting with ambulation
- Must be able to perform frequent, prolonged periods of standing
- Must be able to work in a health care facility with moderate noise levels
- Must be able to be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
- Must be able to travel to training/meeting sites and between assigned facilities
- Must be available for on-call rotation, night, weekend, holiday or as defined by individual program needs
- Must be able to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment
