Job Summary
Assess, plan, and evaluate clinically competent care for assigned dialysis patients, including delegation to direct patient care staff. Perform ongoing data collection and analysis pre-, during-, and post-treatment to modify treatment plans and document responses to prescribed intradialytic transfusions. Administer medications as prescribed, initiate emergency response measures, and coordinate communication with providers to ensure continuity of care. Educate patients and families on basic learning needs and serve as a mentor to new employees. Requires 6 months acute dialysis experience, on-call rotation, and night/weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in all states employed
- Entry level for RNs with minimum 2 years or more of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last 2 years as a RN
- Successful completion of all FKC education and modality specific training requirements
- 6 months experience in acute dialysis as a RN
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to move, with assistance, machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs.
- Must be able to perform essential functions of this position in other locations with the same physical demands and working conditions as described above
- Required to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment
