Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse - RN - Dialysis

Job Summary
Assess, plan, and evaluate care for assigned patients by collecting and analyzing pre-, during-, and post-treatment data to modify treatment plans. Document patient responses to intradialytic transfusions, administer medications, and initiate emergency response measures. Collaborate with direct care staff, physicians, and contracted providers to ensure continuity of care while educating patients and families on learning needs. Serve as a resource, mentor, and role model for new and incumbent employees, providing specialized nursing instructions as needed. Participate in on-call rotations and night, weekend, or holiday shifts. Requires current RN licensure, at least two years of nephrology nursing experience, and acute dialysis experience.
Required Qualifications
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in all states employed
- Entry level for RNs with minimum 2 years or more of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last 2 years as a RN
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to move machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be available for travel to training/meeting sites and between assigned facilities
- Must be available for on-call rotation
- Must be available for night shifts
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for holiday shifts
- Must be able to perform essential functions in other locations
- Required to complete CAP requirements to maintain or advance
- Must be able to pass the Ishihara's Color Blindness test
Desired Qualifications
- 6 months experience in acute dialysis as a RN
- Acute dialysis experience (preferred)
