Job Summary
Provide acute dialysis care for hospital patients, administering medications as ordered, supervising and coordinating with Patient Care Technicians and Licensed Vocational Nurses, and collaborating with physicians and hospital staff to achieve quality patient outcomes. Responsibilities include setting up dialysis machines, performing pre/post treatment assessments, maintaining dialysis records and equipment, participating in infection control and quality initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and educating patients about their care. Requires current RN license, ability to work in a hospital setting, and proficiency with nursing documentation and clinical applications. The role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in applicable state or compact
- 12 months or more current nursing experience preferred
- Previous experience in providing nursing care to patients on dialysis preferred
- CPR certification required with hospital approved program
- Ability to pass color screening
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Must have basic computer skills; proficiency in all USRC clinical applications required within 90 days of hire
- Must meet any practice requirement(s) for the applicable state
- Ability to meet minimum hospital/agency hiring standards which may include additional background clearances and orientation requirements if applicable to the program assigned to for employment
