Job Summary
Acute Dialysis RN provides acute dialysis care in a hospital, supervising and coordinating with Patient Care Technicians and Licensed Vocational Nurses, administering medications as ordered, delivering patient education, and supporting quality metrics and program goals. Responsibilities include setting up dialysis machines, monitoring and documenting patient care, complying with federal/state regulations, infection control practices, inventory management, and communicating patient assessments and treatment results to physicians. Requires current RN license and CPR certification; basic computer skills and color vision screening; ability to work within hospital policies and state practice requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in applicable state or compact
- 12 months or more current nursing experience preferred
- Previous experience in providing nursing care to patients on dialysis preferred
- CPR certification required with hospital approved program
- Ability to pass color screening
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Must have basic computer skills; proficiency in all USRC clinical applications required within 90 days of hire
- Must meet any practice requirement(s) for the applicable state
- Ability to meet minimum hospital/agency hiring standards which may include additional background clearances and orientation requirements if applicable to the program assigned to for employment
