Job Summary
Gather patient stats before and after treatment, initiate and monitor dialysis sessions, and collect blood samples per physician orders. Prepare and clean hemodialysis machines, conduct safety checks, and log quality control results. Adhere to all protocols, use personal protective equipment, and participate in staff meetings and continuing education under RN or Charge Nurse supervision. Complete USRC training and CPR certification within required timelines. Join a cross-functional team dedicated to improving kidney care outcomes for patients with renal failure.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients
- Must be comfortable mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol
- Ability to distinguish all primary colors
- Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency; this includes successful completion of USRC training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire
- CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state
- Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter
Desired Qualifications
- Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus
