Job Summary
Provide safe, high-quality dialysis treatment under RN/Charge Nurse supervision as a Patient Care Technician. Responsibilities include preparing machines for hemodialysis, initiating and monitoring treatment, collecting patient blood samples, gathering patient stats before/after treatment, and ensuring machine safety checks and proper disinfection. Adhere to safety measures, PPE usage, and company policies/regulations; participate in staff meetings and continuing education. Requires completion of USRC training within 8 weeks of hire, CPR within 90 days, and obtaining PCT certification within 18 months. Prior healthcare experience (dialysis, phlebotomy, or CNA) is a plus; ability to distinguish colors and willingness to work in a healthcare setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Desire to work in healthcare
- CPR certification within 90 days of hire or as required by the state
- Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstration of competency; completion of USRC training course in theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire
- Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national certification program within 18 months of hire date
