Job Summary
Gather patient stats before and after treatment, initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis treatments, and collect blood samples per physician orders. Prepare hemodialysis machines, clean and disinfect equipment after use, and conduct safety checks to log results for quality control. Adhere to all company policies, state/federal regulations, and protocols while using appropriate personal protective equipment. Complete USRC training course within 8 weeks of hire and obtain Patient Care Technician certification within 18 months. CPR certification required within 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients
- Must be comfortable mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol
- Ability to distinguish all primary colors
- Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency
- CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state
- Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter
Desired Qualifications
- Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA
