Job Summary
Provide primary health care services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prescribing while managing chronic conditions and acute care. Review patient information, manage labs and diagnostic images, and prioritize patient care throughout the day. Perform acute triage for walk-in and phone patients, administer medications, and refer specialists as needed. Document all interactions in the electronic health record system and coordinate nursing and support staff activities. Respond to messages and relay information to patients and external sources. Complete medical forms and participate in quality assurance, policy development, and student education. Work Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Master of Science in Nursing
- Current California Family Nurse Practitioner certification
- Current California medication furnishing license
- Current DEA License
- CPR Certification
- 3+ years of experience
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including trauma-informed de-escalation techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate with mutual providers of treatment in primary care setting
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Record and associated computer programs
- Graduate of a Physician Assistant program from an accredited school
- Current California Physician Assistant License
- National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants Certificate
- Current Basic Life Support CPR certification
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in urgent care or primary care
- Experience in a community healthcare center
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other threshold language)
