Job Summary
Conduct examinations and treatments for individuals referred to Acute Care Physical Therapy, organizing and constructing treatment plans to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of body parts. Develop written plans of care adhering to documentation standards set by the PT Board of Examiners and CMS. Demonstrate understanding of developmental aging processes, manage clinical activities within the Rehabilitation Department, and collaborate with various disciplines. Maintain BLS certification and hold a North Carolina state license. This PRN role requires working a minimum of one weekend per month and one holiday annually.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited Physical Therapy school
- Annual certificate of license by the State of North Carolina
- BLS Certification
- Ability to organize and conduct clinical activities of the Rehabilitation Department
- Demonstrate an understanding of the developmental aging process as it relates to the physical assessment and treatment of patients of all age categories
- Exhibits professionalism in all interactions within the hospital system and the outside public
- Able to work in collaboration with a variety of individuals and disciplines
- Understands the wellness concept and can communicate with clients from the wellness perspective
- Thorough theoretical and clinical/practical knowledge of evaluations and basic treatment designs for a wide variety of diagnoses, physical therapy modalities, assistive devices to help maximize functional ADL, and the application and instruction in use of prosthetic/orthotic devices
- Required to work a minimum of one (1) weekend per month and one (1) holiday per year
