Job Summary
Provide acute care medical management for hospital-based pulmonary critical care patients as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Collaborate with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to plan, implement, and evaluate medical and nursing care for critically ill patients; manage emergency stabilization; educate residents, medical students, families, and staff; participate in discharge planning and patient education. Requires active APRN or PA licensure, BCLS and ACLS certifications, prescriptive authority eligibility, and the ability to travel between facilities. Role involves adherence to department/system policies, data-entry duties, and flexible scheduling in a hospital/academic-type setting.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing
- Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program
- Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice
- Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP Certified
- PA license in the state of practice, NCCPA Certified
- BCLS / ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and data entry
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Working knowledge of AP provider policies and protocols at department/system level
- Must be able to travel between facilities
- Flexible work schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call)
