Job Summary
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in Physiatry on an inpatient unit within Northwestern Medicine. Provides direct clinical inpatient care, daily rounding, and coordination of admissions/discharges, while collaborating with physicians and a multidisciplinary therapy team. Communicates with patients and families, develops educational resources for patients, families and staff, mentors students, and participates in quality improvement and/or research. Responsibilities include comprehensive history-taking and physical examinations, prescribing medications and orders, interpreting tests, documenting care, and ensuring licensure and privileging requirements are maintained. Roles model patient-first care, participate in committees, and contribute to continuing education for staff. Requires Master’s degree, valid Illinois RN and APRN licenses, APRN certification, BLS, ACLS, DEA/CS license, and MSO privileging; preferred: rehab-experience and 2 years of clinical experience. Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited school/college of nursing program
- Acute care certification OR inpatient experience as an NP will be considered in lieu of acute care certification required
- Current license as an RN in Illinois
- Current license as an APRN in Illinois
- Certification as an APRN by a national certifying body as approved by IL Department of Regulation APRN Board
- APRN privileges and credentialing through MSO
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA)
- ACLS certification as specified by department
- Controlled substance license and DEA registration as specified by department
