Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant sought for inpatient Hospital Medicine at Northwestern Medicine. The role supports hospital inpatients with a focus on clinical care, teaching patients and families, quality improvement, and collaboration with physicians and other health professionals. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, prescribing medications and ordering tests, coordinating care, providing education, mentoring students, and participating in department and hospital committees. Requires a Master degree from an accredited nursing school or an accredited PA program, Illinois RN/APRN or PA license, and relevant certifications (BLS, ACLS, DEA as required). Schedule is 4x10s, Monday through Friday, with no nights/weekends/holidays/on-call. Required Qualifications
- Master degree from an accredited nursing school OR Master degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Acute care certification for APRNs
- Current license as RN in Illinois or current license as APRN/Physician Assistant in Illinois
- Certification as APRN/Physician Assistant as applicable
- Credentialing through MSO
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- DEA registration for controlled substances (as department requires)
