Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill postoperative cardiovascular patients in the 18-bed CVSICU, including those with LVAD, ECMO, or heart-lung transplant histories. Perform invasive procedures such as central line placement, arterial line insertion, chest tube removal, and pacer wire extraction. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop evidence-based treatment plans, educate patients and families, and participate in quality improvement and research initiatives. Requires rotating shifts (6a-6p/6p-6a) including weekends, nights, and holidays. Master's degree, active ACNP license, and minimum one year of critical care experience necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree as a Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- Active, unrestricted ACNP license and certification
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in critical care, preferably in a cardiovascular surgical intensive care unit
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Availability to work full-time night shifts
- Availability to work rotating shifts 6a-6p/6p-6a
- Availability to work weekends
- Availability to work nights
- Availability to work holidays
