Job Summary

Provide comprehensive patient care through systemic assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, and in-hospital follow-up for patients in the Cardiovascular ICU and IMU, including those on VV/VA ECMO, mechanical circulatory support, and post-op cardiac surgery. Manage the heart failure population while training on specialized devices, adhering to the Texas Nurse Practice Act and Memorial Hermann Health System Standards of Care. Requires a Master's degree, current Texas license, and AACN or ACCN certification for Acute Care Nurse Practitioner roles. This position is located at the Comprehensive Heart and Vascular Institute in Southwest Houston, offering full-time night shifts (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) with rotating weekends and holidays, but no call.

Required Qualifications

  • AGACNP or PA required
  • 2-3 years of RN, PA or NP Critical Care experience & experience with heart failure population required
  • New NPs or PAs MUST have 2-3 years of RN experience with Critical Care ICU
  • Graduate of Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas
  • Graduate of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas if area of intended practice is Trauma
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with at least two (2) years' related experience
  • Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing
  • Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center or National Certification Center in area of specialty
  • Certification by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners or the American Certification of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification
  • Certified in Basic Life Support
  • current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Certified in ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) if area of practice is Trauma within 6 months of hire date
  • Two (2) years clinical nursing experience in area of intended practice

Desired Qualifications

  • Masters of Nursing preferred
